The "Ulpan Kibbutz" program offers intensive Hebrew language learning alongside working and living in a kibbutz.

Ulpan Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu is a unique Hebrew learning and work program located on a Modern Orthodox kibbutz in the heart of Israel.

Since 1968, thousands of young olim have taken their first steps in Israel right here, building language skills, friendships, and a sense of belonging.

Participants spend an unforgettable five months fully immersed in Israeli life. After all, the best way to learn Hebrew is to live the language!

The program combines 24 hours of Hebrew classes each week with 16 hours of work alongside Israelis in various branches of the kibbutz, creating a meaningful and practical learning experience. Our professional teaching staff operates under the guidance of the Israeli Ministry of Education.

Ulpan Sde Eliyahu offers not only language acquisition but also a rich Jewish and Israeli journey. Students become part of the community - celebrating Shabbat, marking the Jewish holidays together, and enjoying daily services in our beautiful synagogue.

Ulpan Sde Eliyahu serves as a strong foundation for young olim seeking language skills, community connection, and a meaningful start in Israel.

  • Participants aged 18-30, eligible for aliyah to Israel.

Ulpan Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu offers an intensive five-month Hebrew learning experience on a Modern Orthodox kibbutz in the Beit She’an Valley. Participants study Hebrew between 18–24 hours per week, building a strong linguistic foundation that supports successful professional and social integration in Israel. Prior to the start of the program, students are placed in level-appropriate classes based on a placement test, ensuring personalized and effective language instruction.

Beyond the classroom, participants gain meaningful exposure to Israeli life — including familiarity with the country, its customs, culture, and society — through daily interaction with kibbutz members and participation in community life.

The program includes individual guidance regarding educational and employment opportunities in Israel, as well as consultations with representatives of the Student Authority. Informational sessions are held throughout the program with professionals from the Jewish Agency, the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, and employment services, providing practical tools for the next stages of absorption.

Living and working alongside Israelis from the first day enables participants to actively practice Hebrew in real-life settings. This combination of intensive study and daily use of the language accelerates progress and supports confident communication within the first months in Israel.

As part of the kibbutz’s Modern Orthodox character, participants experience a warm Jewish communal environment, including Shabbat observance, holiday celebrations, and access to daily prayer services in the kibbutz synagogue.

All participants in Ulpan Kibbutz programs are required to register with the Clalit Health Fund.

Graduates of Ulpan Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu often form lasting international friendships and strong connections with the kibbutz community, with Sde Eliyahu becoming a meaningful milestone in their personal journey in Israel.

Young people live in the kibbutz, 2 people per room, with access to all communal and other kibbutz services.
