Who is it for?

First Home in the Homeland (Bayit Rishon BaMoledet) is a 6–12-month kibbutz-based absorption program designed for new immigrant families, couples, and singles.
Participants live on a kibbutz and enjoy a warm, communal atmosphere that helps ease their transition into Israeli society. The program combines intensive Hebrew study, cultural activities, support with bureaucracy, and a safe, family-friendly environment.
The kibbutz Aliyah coordinator assists with enrolling children in schools and kindergartens, joining a Health Fund, opening a bank account, and navigating Israel’s systems. After six months, participants may continue in an advanced ulpan or seek employment on the kibbutz or in the surrounding area.
What the Program Includes
• Housing on the kibbutz for 6 months, with an optional 6-month extension
• Intensive Hebrew Ulpan: 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, for 5 months (500 hours)
• Schools, kindergartens, and afterschool programs for children at subsidized rates
• Personal support from experienced coordinators and volunteers
• Integration assistance: healthcare enrollment, banking, education, and community life
• Cultural activities, holiday celebrations, and trips around Israel
• Daily interaction with kibbutz residents and participation in community life
Accommodation Options
Participants receive a fully furnished small apartment on the kibbutz, equipped with the essentials needed for a comfortable stay. Housing is provided at a subsidized rate, varying by kibbutz and arrival date.
Costs
• Subsidized housing fee (varies by kibbutz) - from 1,500 shekels per month
